About Us

SIYYON Church was founded by Apostle Johnson in 1999 in his rented room when only one person attended the very first Sunday Service. Now, SIYYON sees hundreds of people gather each weekend at the Sahnewal Campus for church services.
SIYYON is a church that is impacting our city, our nation, and the nations of the world with the love of Jesus and the power of the Holy Ghost.

Born and raised in Village Behbal Chak in District Gurdaspur of State Punjab of INDIA, Johnson heard a voice asking him to repent from his sins. The year was 1995. At that time, he didn’t know what repentance was or how it was performed. He went to a Pentecostal Church in Dhariwal (Punjab, IN) looking for the answers. He spent Four years with LORD through that Pentecostal Church. Soon LORD spoke through the Prophet Prakash Chand, revealing that he was chosen to be Apostle.
After relocating to Sahnewal, Punjab (IN), on July 21, 1999, the very first meeting was held. SIYYON has grown from meeting in a car garage to meeting in multiple locations across the Punjab State.

At SIYYON, we base all our beliefs on the authority of Scripture. In every way, we strive to maintain Biblical standards of living and leadership. We believe that living life according to LORD’s Word is the way to an abundant, fulfilling life.

THE BIBLE

We believe the entire Bible is inspired by LORD and without any error. The Bible is the authority on which we base our faith, conduct, and doctrine. It is an intention of the LORD for humans. A Word of LORD to all people. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Ghost. Because it was inspired by LORD, the Bible is Truth and is completely relevant to our daily lives. We value the Bible as God's revealed truth and the catalyst for life transformation and change. The Word of God is one of the greatest gifts He has given us. It's so many things – divinely inspired, relevant, applicable, perfect, supernatural, simple, complex, comforting and challenging. It literally is the last word – nothing will be added to it, and it has the final say in questions of how we live our lives, lead our families, and function as a church.

The Bible is not a self-help book; it's not a collection of ancient sayings that may or may not apply in today's world, and it's not a mysterious book of answers to life's most confusing questions. More than anything else, the Bible shows us who God is.

THE TRINITY

God exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Ghost. In the beginning, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit created the universe together. These three are co-equal and co-eternal.

THE FATHER

Father is regarded as the first person of the Trinity. He is the Father to all men because he created the world (and in that sense 'fathered' the world), the same God is also uniquely the lawgiver to his chosen people. He is all powerful, all knowing, ever present, unchanging, completely worthy of our trust, and above all, Holy. He is loving, compassionate, and faithful to His people and His promises. He is the Former of all things; the LORD of hosts is His name.

THE SON

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of LORD and all things have been created through Him and for Him. Before the creation of universe, Jesus Christ is there. He was with Adam in the Garden of Eden. He showed Abraham the way to the promised land. And he brought his people out of the slavery of Egypt. He is a Word of LORD. And then the Word became flesh and came to this earth as Savior of the world to fulfil the Will of LORD. Jesus Christ is completely human but, at the same time, completely God. He is the only plan for bringing people who are far from God back into a right relationship with God. He lived a perfect life, so that He could be a substitution for us in satisfying God’s demands for perfection. He defeated death in His resurrection so that we can have life.

THE HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He was active in the Old Testament and is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He empowers the saints for service and witness, cleanses man from the old nature, and conforms us to the image of Christ.

Given at Pentecost, the baptism of the Holy Spirit is the promise of the Father, sent by Jesus after His Ascension, to empower the Church to preach the Gospel throughout the whole earth. The Holy Spirit is manifested through a variety of spiritual gifts to build and sanctify the church, demonstrate the validity of the resurrection, and confirm the power of the Gospel. All believers are biblically encouraged to earnestly desire the manifestation of the gifts in their lives. These gifts always operate in harmony with the Scriptures and should never be used in violation of biblical parameters.

SALVATION

We believe that Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood for our sin. We believe that salvation is only found by placing our faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus rose from the dead and is coming again. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, His death, burial and resurrection. Salvation is a gift from God, not a result of our good works or of any human efforts.

WATER BAPTISM

The Bible teaches that we are saved by grace through faith. Baptism is a public confession of that faith in Jesus to God, the church, and the world (Matthew 10:32). Following our understanding of Scripture, we practice baptism by immersion; the Greek word used exclusively throughout the New Testament for baptism is “baptiso,” which means to plunge, dip, or immerse. Baptism is considered to be a form of rebirth—"by water and the Spirit". Jesus modeled this form of baptism and commanded it, making baptism a symbolic act of obedience and faith. Baptism by immersion represents the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, symbolizing our old self dying, being buried in the water, and raised as a new creation in Christ Jesus. Anyone who has professed faith in Jesus Christ should be baptized at his or her conversion or soon after. Baptize in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, in running water.

HOLY COMMUNION

Jesus Christ converted Passover to Holy Communion. During a Passover meal, He commanded them to "do this in remembrance of me" while referring to the bread as "My Body" and the cup as "the blood of My Covenant, which is poured out for many". People often do this every month or quarterly, half-yearly, or yearly. But Jesus said in 1 Cor. 11:25, "...whenever you do...", indicating that this should not be a periodic event. Let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
